COP31 in Antalya

COP31, the 31st session of the UN climate convention's Conference of the Parties, is in Antalya, Türkiye, from 9 to 20 November 2026, at the Antalya EXPO Center in Aksu, east of the city by the airport.

Who runs it

Under the arrangement that settled the bid, Türkiye hosts and Murat Kurum, its Minister of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, is President-Designate; Australia's Chris Bowen is President of Negotiations, chairing the talks themselves.

The size

The host expects about 100,000 participants over the fortnight, from the convention's 197 Parties, the observer organisations and the press.

Blue Zone and Green Zone

The Blue Zone is the UN-run negotiating space and needs accreditation through a Party or an admitted observer organisation; that window has closed for most. The Green Zone, run by the host, has exhibitions, talks and the country pavilions open to the public, and registration is on cop31.tr.

From the Gulf

Antalya is about four hours from Dubai by air, with direct flights in the season. November is mild on the Turkish coast, around 20°C by day.

Why a Dubai site covers it

The UAE presided over COP28 in 2023 and its negotiators, companies and sovereign funds are a fixed presence at every session since; the Gulf's energy transition is argued at these meetings as much as at home.
